Definition of Finagle by David

by David AUGUST 26, 2017
Okay, okay, so if you look up the word finagle in the dictionary, it doesn't always have the kindest definition. But it doesn't have to be that way. I think it's a really cute word. It's a word with personality, And it's even fun to say - go ahead and give it a try! So, if I was in charge of coming up with definitions, here's how it would go.

Fi‧na‧gle [fi-ney-guhl]

--verb
To obtain or achieve something by cleverness.

-- Related forms: Finagle, noun
A mobile app that simply gives stuff away.

One (that's all it takes)

by David JULY 2, 2017
So, how many times should you enter a Finagle (aka giveaway)? Just once is plenty.

There's no reason to do any more than that - really. I'm not the type of guy who's going to manipulate you into opening the app over and over and over again. I'm not the sort of person who makes you re-post some self-serving message in order to improve your odds. That's not how we roll around here.

When you receive a new Finagle notification, just open the app - one time is fine.

Would you like to know when a new Finagle (aka giveaway) is ready and waiting?

by David JUNE 24, 2017
I sure hope that you do.

This is where notifications come into play and are so very important to our app. A push notification (as they are technically called) is a message that pops up on a mobile device from an app. App publishers like Finagle can send them at any time; users don't have to be in the app or using their devices to receive them.

We send a notification each and every time that we have a new Finagle. It’s really the best way to get notified that there's something new ready and waiting. One thing to note is that we don't bomb you with notifications, that's just not my style.

So, what if you’re not getting these notifications? Here’s some help.

For iOS: Go to Settings > Notifications > Finagle, and make sure that notifications are turned on.
For Android: Go to Settings > Apps > Finagle > Notifications, and make sure that notifications aren’t disabled.

If all else fails, uninstall Finagle and then reinstall it. Just make sure that if asked, you allow push notifications.

Aha! moment

I believe that advertising is becoming more and more of a disaster everyday. Google, Facebook, and the other gatekeepers see you as a product to slice and dice and most of all sell to advertisers. I see you as a person, just like me. A person that deserves more respect. And I want all of us to benefit from our most precious resource of all - our time.

I want to take the gatekeepers out of the advertising equation and redirect all of that ad spending (over $600 billion!!!) back to you. In this new world of mine, people get lots and lots and lots of free stuff and advertisers get the exposure they so desire - and a bit of good karma to boot.

At the end of the day, I want to unleash a tsunami of free stuff into the world.

How to activate (aka register) the Finagle app?

by David JUNE 4, 2017
So, after you install Finagle on your smartphone, you need to activate your account to make it work. I really love keeping things simple and if I had a choice I wouldn’t ask for anything from you. Unfortunately, I haven’t quite figured out how to do that yet, mainly because I need to be able to contact you if/when you win something!!!

The process is pretty simple though.

Step 1: On the very first page after installing, you'll enter your email address and mobile phone number. The mobile number has to be real though, because a secret code is immediately sent to that number as a text message after you submit it.

Step 2: Once you receive that code, enter it on the next page and submit once more. This secret code is sort of like a password, but one that you don’t need to remember. Yippee!

That’s really it.

If for some reason Finagle forgets (ugh) who you are, you’ll just need to activate it again. It really should only take a few seconds - okay, maybe a bit longer, if you're a slow typer like me.

Help me

by David MAY 29, 2017
Since Finagle is already out there, my first priority is gaining more users. I need to get the word out. More users equals more stuff to give away. More stuff equals more users. And the snowball gets bigger and faster and faster and bigger. Here are a few of our more important links.

Share Finagle with friends and let's spread some goods!

How does Finagle work?

by David MAY 14, 2017
It’s probably one of the simplest apps that you’ll ever come across - all by design. I really don’t want to annoy people. I really don’t want to manipulate people. I really don’t want to confuse people. What you see is what you get.

So, how does Finagle work?
1) Well, first you install the app.
2) Then, every once in awhile, you'll receive a new giveaway notification (don’t forget to allow notifications on your phone!).
3) All you do is open the app.
4) After seeing the giveaway, you'll be automatically entered into a random drawing

That’s it! Really, there’s nothing more to do.

My mission

by David MAY 10, 2017
My mission here at Finagle is really an attempt at redirecting some the billions and billions of dollars spent each year on advertising directly back to the people. Back to you. I just think that we're all getting a little screwed - the internet is becoming a cesspool of misdirection and marketing noise - and the gatekeepers are thriving because of it. There's gotta be a better way.

Our winners... on a map

by David FEBRUARY 23, 2016
As of today, we've had 95 giveaway winners. Check out where they're from.

Surprise! Everyone wins.

by David FEBRUARY 15, 2016
Hi. I'm David and I started Finagle as a way of simply giving stuff away. Usually that means just one winner here and another there, but recently we did something different.

For our Pocky Giveaway, we didn't just have some yummy Pocky for our winner, we had a little Pocky surprise for everyone.

After the giveaway ended, we offered EVERYONE who entered a free box of Pocky Chocolate Cream Covered Biscuit Sticks.

We're hoping to have many more of these surprises as we move forward, so keep on Finagling.

Enjoy,
David

PS. We're on giveaway #18... It's an Amazon Fire TV Stick with Voice Remote.

Finagle launches “Skip Black Friday” giveaway to spread some good(s)

by David NOVEMBER 18, 2015

Quirky mobile app spreads smiles, promotes product discovery.

One man on a mission. Nashville entrepreneur David Repas launches giveaway app to introduce cool products in a fun way. It’s called Finagle. And its purpose is to simply give stuff away.

The Finagle app, available in the App Store and Google Play, launched earlier this year with a steady assortment of unique giveaways designed to make winners smile. The “Skip Black Friday” giveaway (ending 11/24/15 at 2:00 PM ET) continues the playful spirit of discovering new products in a quick, light-hearted way. “I thought it would be a great antidote to the madness of Black Friday,” says David Repas, founder of Finagle, “and a reminder that the season shouldn’t be stressful.”

Winners receive a ZAQ Dew essential oils diffuser, KIS Oils top six gift box, Tea Forte Lotus tin sampler and Blue Star Coloring’s adult coloring book of stress relieving animal designs.

“I guess you could call it a giveaways app or something like that, but that would be boring,” Repas added. “Right now, since it’s just me doing this (and my wife thinks I’ve spent enough of our savings already), the giveaways may seem kind of lame. But the bottom line is I’m trying to create an app that makes people happy through random-drawing giveaways of products they may not have already discovered.”

Hello.

by David NOVEMBER 16, 2015
Hi. I'm David, I created this app to introduce new and cool products in a fun way. It's called Finagle. And its purpose is to simply give stuff away.

I guess you could call it a "giveaways app" or something like that, but that would be boring. Right now, since it's just me doing this (and my wife thinks I've spent enough of our savings already), the giveaways may seem kind of lame. Okay, they are. But the more people that join Finagle, the better the giveaways will become. I'm working really hard to make sure that happens. The bottom line is this: I'm trying to create an app that makes people happy through random-drawing giveaways.

So, how does Finagle work?
1) Install the app.
2) Every once in awhile, you'll receive a new giveaway notification. Open it.
3) After seeing the giveaway, you'll be automatically entered into a random drawing.

That's it.

Remember, the more people the better the giveaways. Share this with friends and let's spread some good(s)!
